The 2025 British Truck Racing Championship kicked off in explosive style at Brands Hatch this past weekend, and Team Oliver Racing wasted no time making their mark. Across five adrenaline-fueled races, the team bagged five podiums, a race win, and capped it all off with a stunning 1-2 finish. It was a weekend full of drama, grit, and serious speed — exactly what truck racing is all about.
Saturday – Fast Out the Gate
Race 1: A Dramatic Start Opening weekend didn’t disappoint. Stuart Oliver started from the front row, with Martin Gibson just behind and Michael Oliver starting fourth after a qualifying penalty. From the drop of the green flag, the action came thick and fast. A red flag interrupted the flow early on, forcing a restart as a five-minute sprint to the finish. Stuart fought hard to grab P2, securing our first podium of the season. Martin held strong for P5, while Michael clawed his way back from a spin to finish in the top ten. Three trucks, three points-scoring finishes — not a bad way to start the year. Race 2: First Win in the Bag With Stuart on the front row and Michael and Martin right behind, we were set for a big result — and we delivered. Stuart took the lead early and didn’t let go, crossing the line to claim our first win of the 2025 season. Michael put in a brilliant drive to finish P4 after a tough scrap, while Martin showed real determination to bring his damaged truck home in P10. Two races in, and the momentum was building fast.Sunday – Pushing Even Harder
Race 3: Podiums Keep Coming The reverse-grid format added a twist, but Martin made the most of his front-row start. After another early red flag and restart, he fought tooth and nail to hold his position under pressure, eventually finishing third — his first podium of the season. Stuart and Michael both had to work their way through the pack, with Stuart finishing P5 and Michael grabbing P7 after a recovery drive. Tough racing, smart driving, and more points in the bag. Race 4: More Silverware Another reverse grid meant more work to do. The team rose to the challenge — all three drivers gained positions before the race was red-flagged again and called early. Results were taken from the previous lap, putting Michael on the podium in P3, Stuart just behind in P4, and Martin in P7. A strong team result once again. Race 5: The Perfect Finish You couldn’t script a better end to the weekend. Stuart and Michael charged to a dominant 1-2 finish, with Stuart taking the lead and never looking back. Michael held firm behind him to complete a dream result for the team. Martin battled hard in the pack and finished P7 — a solid finish to round out a brilliant weekend.Weekend Summary
