PMR Donington Park - April 2025

Power Maxed Racing – Donington Park April 2025

Mikey Doble and PMR Start 2025 BTCC Season Strong at Donington Park The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship roared back into action this weekend, and Mikey Doble, racing for Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing, delivered a headline-worthy performance at Donington Park. With bold overtakes, independent class wins, and a clear message to the rest of the grid, Doble and PMR showed they mean business this season.

A Promising Start

Right from qualifying, Mikey Doble was on the pace. He carried that speed into Race 1, fighting hard in a competitive field to take a brilliant P5 finish. More than just a strong points result, the drive also secured the first Independent Driver win of the season, a perfect way to launch his 2025 campaign.

Fighting Through Adversity

Race 2 brought a dose of frustration. A minor technical glitch on the grid, where the car briefly refused to fire up, delayed the team from clearing the grid on time, resulting in a drive-through penalty. Starting from the back, Doble had a mountain to climb. But in true racer fashion, he dug deep and fought his way back to 16th, showcasing resilience, maturity, and serious racecraft.

Finishing Strong

The final race of the day saw Doble starting from P16, but he wasn’t staying there for long. In one of the standout drives of the weekend, he surged up the field to finish P6, clinching another Independent Team and Driver win in the process. Not only was it a thrilling comeback, but it also netted crucial points for both championships.

Praise from the Paddock

Mikey’s performance didn’t go unnoticed. Fans, media, and paddock insiders alike praised the 24-year-old for his consistency, pace, and composure under pressure. “It’s a little bit bittersweet because I know we had the pace for even more,” Doble said after the final race. “But overall, I’m proud of what we achieved this weekend. A fifth and a sixth-place finish is a fantastic way to start the season. The car felt incredible thanks to all the hard work from the team. This gives us a real platform to build from.” He also thanked both long-time and new sponsors for making the weekend possible. Team Principal Adam Weaver echoed the sentiment “We knew Mikey would make a real step forward in his third season with us, and to see it all come together at the first round is fantastic. He showed top 5 pace, real racing instinct, and maturity beyond his years. We’re only just getting started.”
