BTCC ROUND 4: Oulton Park

LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing and Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing enjoyed a highly competitive weekend at Oulton Park for Rounds 10, 11, and 12 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Across the team’s multi-car entry, the weekend was defined by consistent points scoring and determined performances.

A Weekend of Changing Conditions

The Cheshire circuit provided a stern test as changeable weather, ranging from damp starts to drying tracks and drizzle, kept the teams on their toes. Despite the complexity, the Power Maxed Racing squad demonstrated strong pace immediately in Free Practice, with Aiden Moffat topping the timesheets and teammates Mikey Doble and Dexter Patterson also showing competitive form.

In qualifying, the team secured strong starting positions for the weekend’s opening Qualifying Race. Doble impressed with the second-fastest time in Group Two, while Patterson secured third in his group. Moffat’s fifth-place effort in his group rounded out a solid Saturday, setting the stage for the Sunday race day.

Race Day Highlights

Sunday saw the drivers battle through a variety of track conditions and tyre strategies.

  • Race One: Moffat and Doble led the charge with fifth and sixth-place finishes, with Doble securing the fastest Independent lap. Patterson narrowly missed the top ten, crossing the line in 11th.

  • Race Two: Doble continued his strong form, securing another fifth-place finish. Patterson delivered one of his most impressive drives of the season to take eighth. It was a tougher outing for Moffat, who suffered misfortune after a trip across the grass, leaving him 21st.

  • Race Three: The reverse grid provided a final opportunity, with the field grappling with the challenging hard-compound tyre. Patterson produced a mature drive to finish eighth, while Moffat staged a brilliant recovery to finish 10th. Doble fought hard to finish 11th.

Milestone Moments and Championship Standings

The weekend will be remembered for two significant milestones, with both Mikey Doble and Dexter Patterson celebrating their 100th BTCC starts. For Doble, this achievement is particularly special as all 100 starts have been with Power Maxed Racing.

Patterson’s weekend was further sweetened by his performance, which saw him take the lead in the Jack Sears Trophy standings.

Championship Overview:

  • Mikey Doble: 7th in Drivers’ Championship, leads the Independents Trophy.

  • Aiden Moffat: 10th in Drivers’ Championship, 4th in Independents.

  • Dexter Patterson: 14th in Drivers’ Championship, 8th in Independents, and 1st in the Jack Sears Trophy.

As the 2026 season progresses, the team continues to hold a strong position, leading the Independent Teams’ Championship with the LKQ Euro Car Parts entry, while the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing entry holds fifth in the Independent Teams’ standings. With momentum building and milestones achieved, the team heads into the next phase of the season with great confidence.
