Round 1: Donington Debrief

The 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship kicked off at Donington Park this past weekend, and the message from Power Maxed Racing was loud and clear: The new Audi S3 is a winner. In what was a milestone weekend for the team, PMR secured an overall race victory, multiple trophy wins, and established an early lead in several championship standings. From veteran consistency to career-best performances, the team left the circuit with a massive haul of silverware and momentum.

The Top Step: Mikey Doble Claims Maiden Victory

The highlight of the weekend came early in Race One. Lining up fourth on the grid after a competitive Saturday, Mikey Doble (LKQ Euro Car Parts with PMR) drove a masterful race to stay within striking distance of the leaders. Following a post-race disqualification ahead of him, Doble was promoted to the top step, securing his first overall BTCC race win and the Independent win in the process.

““I think we’ve got to take all the positives we can from it. The car’s fast — we won the first race for the car in round one of the season. To see all three cars up in the top ten of the championship is a great achievement as well. It just gives me so much excitement for what’s to come. I think it’s going to be a really strong year for everyone at the team.”“

The Masterclass: Aiden Moffat Takes 3rd in the standings

Aiden Moffat proved exactly why he is one of the most respected names on the grid. Showcasing relentless consistency, Moffat secured a 6th place in Race One followed by two brilliant 4th-place finishes. His performance in the final race of the weekend earned him the Independent victory and catapulted him to 3rd overall in the Drivers’ Championship.

Moffat summarized the mood in the garage:

““I think it was pretty promising. To be this strong from Race One is a credit to how hard the team have worked and how well the cars are built. It was gutting to miss out on the outright podium, but to walk away with two fourths, a sixth and an Independent win, and to leave the weekend third in the championship, that’s one hell of a result — especially for the car’s first outing. Jack Sears Trophy for Dexter, a win for Mikey… I don’t think we could have asked for much more. We’d be a bit greedy if we did.”.”

Career Best: Dexter Patterson Dominates Jack Sears Trophy

On the Steel Seal with PMR side of the garage, Dexter Patterson delivered what he described as his “best ever weekend in Touring Cars.” Patterson was the model of consistency, delivering a 7-7-6 result across the three races.

Starting second on the reverse grid for Race Three, Patterson held his nerve to finish 6th, securing enough points to claim the Jack Sears Trophy victory for the weekend and take the early lead in those standings.

““Best ever weekend in Touring Cars. It’s good to have two reference drivers — I’ve got two really strong teammates. It’s nice to be able to sit down after this weekend and look at where I can improve, where I was strong, and where we can move forwards as a team. This should really help us heading into Brands Hatch.”“
