BASICS ON TFR

WHAT IS TFR?

In the detailing world, a touchless wash is the golden standard. The goal is simple: limit physical contact. By keeping your wash mitt away from the paint as long as possible, you drastically reduce the risk of swirl marks and scratches.

Throughout the year, your car is under attack. It accumulates a gritty cocktail of road salt, grease, oil and mud. Left alone, these contaminants eat into your clear coat.  While a standard pH-neutral snow foam is ideal for maintenance,  heavily soiled cars will require a tougher product to break through the dirt. TFR is not just soap. It is a precision-engineered solution designed to break the stubborn, greasy bond that regular shampoo leaves behind.

Traffic Film Remover is generally built for HGVs and heavy machinery, making them aggressive and easily damaging. Ours is formulated to bridge the gap. Power Maxed TFR has been designed with your car in mind. We have formulated our product to be tough on road grime but gentle on your vehicle’s body. You have the cleaning power of an industrial degreaser without the risk to your paint

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE TFR?

As a heavy duty pre wash, TFR should always be the first product to use before even thinking about a contact wash. By chemically lifting physical contaminants, you ensure that you are not simply scrubbing dirt into your car  and causing unnecessary damage.

General rule of thumb:

  • For general maintenance: use our pH neutral platinum snow foam
  • For heavily soiled cars: our TFR is your best option especially during the winter months or after long drives through mud and road grime.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO APPLY AND USE TFR

An added bonus with TFR is its versatility. Depending on the job or requirement of TFR, there are several ways to apply it:

  • Through a foam lancer or pump sprayer to get full car coverage quickly and efficiently
  • Manual trigger spray for targeting specific areas such as wheel arches, door jams or alloys.

A golden rule with any pre-wash is to never let the product dry. Drying can leave possible streaking, water spots, chemical etching or paint damage. Aim for a dwell time of 1–2 minutes. You need those 60–120 seconds to break down stubborn film, but don’t let it sit long enough to dry or cause harm.

SCIENCE BEHIND BRAKING DOWN ROAD GRIME

It may be confusing how a product can have an aggressive effect on dirt and road grime but remains gentle on your vehicle’s paint. TFR is made up of a mixture of surfactants and alkaline agents that break down molecular bonds of dirt and grease. This allows them to be removed without any manual scrubbing.

The surfactants in TFR have a unique structure, allowing them to encapsulate dirt particles, forming a bubble around them to prevent them from re-clumping onto the surface. When you rinse your car, the water pulls the surfactants off the surface, allowing the dirt to slide safely off the body of your car.

KEY DIUTION RATES
